Amigurumi “Lion”

In my effort to win the heart of an adorable five-year-old, I decided to make an amigurumi lion! I used a LionBrand pattern but switched up the colors to give it a more rustic, homespun feel. And vintage button eyes because, well, that’s how I roll.

Inspired by the Pretty Puffs hat, although after being filtered through my brain it took on a shape and character of its own! I’m loving the vintage buttons I bought last weekend, and I’ve been incorporating them into all of my latest projects. Reclaimed jewelry rocks.

So much for making that shrug. I decided to modify the pattern and make a little neckwarmer instead! I decorated it with vintage buttons I found at an antique shop here in Rhode Island. It’s currently for sale at my Etsy shop for $12.
